Talismans of Sun

I think that this jewelry operates as a kind of talisman. Talisman the word comes from the Greek word meaning to initiate into the mysteries. These pieces are momentos of places that may be significant to us both physically visited and in the imagination. They are objects that carry desire inside of them, operating in a kind of magical way initiating us into our personal mysteries.
I recently listed these big pineapple earrings. Now I am a Queensland girl, but I have never seen the big pineapple, but when I wear these on a cold day, I swear I feel lighter and sunnier as if they channel that sunlight out of my memory.

Travelling to secret places and times

I dont know why I am so attracted to heraldry - besides being terribly hip at the moment - a symbol can very effectively transport you to another time and place and perhaps by wearing symbols that resonate with your secret desires and wishes - you do travel for a moment to that secret place. Wearing a little bit of place affords us the opportunity to go there.

King Henry VIII

Hampton Court Palace was Henry VIII's favourite palace.  The gatehouse shown on the ring is also known today as Anne Boleyn's gate, after Henry's second wife. Work was still underway on Anne Boleyn's apartments above the gate when the King, having tired of her, had her executed. There is something quite cool about the blood red path leading to the gatehouse. A bit of gothic quirkiness that speaks of hidden histories.
I have just listed this unique piece http://www.etsy.com/listing/74453868/vintage-gothic-royal-castle-hampton

Rings rings rings

Lately I've been overtaken with a medieval mood. Maybe its the royal wedding...These coat of arms rings just add a touch of flair and colour to the wintry days ahead here in Sydney. A little bit of class to help steer us through the bad patches.
